Today Dan and I spent a few hours riding along the coast and it was a lot of work! I honestly can't remember the last time I had to fight so hard to keep my motorcycle from being blown off the road by wind gusts!

Seriously, there were times when I wondered if I would go off the edge of the road, or just be pushed over when already leaning into a corner. We estimated that the wind gusts were easily over 50 kph. At one point I was going 55 myself and the headwind was so strong I felt like I was making no headway at all. And those blissful times when it was a tail wind and everything was completely calm, with no wind pressure at all...  And they have already issued a high wind warning for tomorrow  :o

So, you must head out for a ride tomorrow. Muscle training to make the 55 kph days a breeze.

(I _still_ have yet to view your recent ride report(s))

I've just got back from the Dalmatian Coast-the locals say the wind in winter regularly goes over hurricane force.

I've heard about the Adriatic Highway but not about the winds.

The worst day of winds I've experienced was the prairie winds through Nebraska.  I feels like I was counter steering into the wind for miles and miles.
Only motorcycle riders know why a dog sticks its head out of a car window.

Here's a pic of the Dalmatian Coast Road-apparently, the fifth most dangerous road in the world. Which I can believe-some of the driving was utter lunacy.

I'm not sure where that picture was taken, but we left the coast when we left Makarska behind us today. We did, however, find a gem of a road.

That was one seriously looooong drop off there!  (and hoping that the embed feature works)

Till the morning comes, it'll do you fine.
Till the morning comes, like a highway sign,
Showing you the way, leaving no doubt,
Of the way on in or the way back out.
