As long as I don't go anywhere near the battery terminals, it should be fine.

This is what happens when you go to bed early.  Of course, I believe he rolled out around 5AM which provided him an opportunity to have the last laugh.  Classy guy that smoker.

No doubt they were still chilled nicely given how cold it was. I assume you were above the fog in the valleys on the BRP. The fog sucked mightily when Chris and I left at 7am. Awesome view leaving Sparta until I realized we were about to ride through it.

Perhaps the oddest thing I saw in 2500+ miles was a collection of statues along the road in NC on our way to Squirrel Spur Rd. I saw a big colorful hippo and an elephant and a small army of Bigfoot statues. I should have stopped for a few photos but we had a truck come up behind us (actually crawling up Jimmy's ass) as I slowly rolled past and went "WTFF????". Turns out that Google Car was there. Here is the location:

https://goo.gl/maps/qc4Fe3ydR3B2

Based on the name of the side road, it turns out that this is "Slick's Pottery and Cement Yard Sculptures".

Strangely, the group in the truck seemed really peeved that we slowed to peer at the Sasquatch army.

This morning when I viewed my rearward-facing Go Pro footage, I found I had no still shots of the driver, but I did capture this...

Yep. The beer was cold enough to drink when I got home, being around 38* on the parkway may have helped.
I only had 1 short span of about a mile of thin fog. That LED bar under my headlights sliced right through it.

Ha, I can't say I've ever noticed that before.  I'll need to pay more attention the next time I'm in the area.  At first, I thought you were talking about this place and I thought, "wow, I really steered them off course if he rode past this."

Also, is this the hotel you recommend in Maggie Valley near Wheels Through Time?

Yes it is. $65 a night I think. It's an older, funky place. The owners are cool. It has nice grounds with a hammock, fire pit, and picnic tables. There is a separate building with a kitchen, and tables and board games and such. And it's literally across the creek from Wheels Through Time. Rooms are small but clean. If you enjoy funky old mom and pop stuff with decades old décor, then you'll like it. I think Smoker said they had 14 rooms total. We could book the whole joint for a meet some time.

5 Days of beautiful weather added up to 1,616 miles of positively perfect riding.

Had an outstanding run on 220 north of Covington & lunch at Paint Bank on the way home.

We did feel very welcome.

You can count double - 2 Fingers on 4 Wheels.

Thanks for being there everyone.  You make riding more than just a road trip.

I'm curious, does anyone who attended the meet have Conjunctivitis?  I was diagnosed with it today.

Be careful with that it could develop into optical rectitis or even optalanalitis.  Both some serious shit.

Nice weekend lets do it again.  Hope your bike finds its way back together.

Not I.

However, just for the sake of safety, I think maybe I better put the Porsche in my garage until you heal. I'll be down tomorrow.

Wow, Ken! That exceeded my expectations. I watched this eating my lunch today and was totally engaged. Like Garry said - a great blend of video from different perspectives and stills. I like your selfie stick video. And thanks for labeling the roads and sights. Very helpful.

I can't imagine the effort though....

Thanks!  I'm very careful with using that selfie stick - completely empty road, bike stopped, start the gopro and extend the stick, put it running in the tankbag, start riding, take out stick and film, put it back in tankbag, stop bike, turn off.  I'd gladly drop the stick and camera if needed without a second thought.
