Hitcase for iPhones
« on: December 19, 2013, 12:56:58 PM »
Anyone have one of these yet? It's called the Hitcase—looks pretty awesome. I'm thinking of picking one up over the holidays instead of a GoPro. Granted, an iPhone is a bit bigger than a GoPro...but I like the idea of being able to shoot good (and safe) video with my iPhone while riding. I also like spending $150 instead of $400. And they have lots of different mounts available, just like GoPro.

Riding a rashed-up bike is strangely liberating.

Looks like a lot of weight cantilevered out over that spindly mount.

I thought the same thing...but their website has a bunch of demo videos shot from stunt bikers doing flips, aggressive skiers, surfers, etc. Their marketing suggests the whole system was engineered for abusive extreme sports environments. We'll see...I've been wanting a GoPro, just haven't been able to drop the $400 on one...so I may try one of these. The quality of iPhone 5 video is (in good light) every bit as good as a GoPro (if not better).

I guess on the upside you can always use Find My iPhone when it flies off.
