Those funny little life things that make you chuckle.
« on: December 17, 2013, 07:51:25 AM »
I just received a text from my ex wife's - ex boyfriend asking to borrow my table saw and if I can deliver it three towns over.

Made me chuckle.

He just came and picked it up after I cleared it with her that he wasn't being a shitbag. I look at it like this, I don't have to have it in my shed/garage/basement all winter when space is at a premium and i told him I'll pick it up when I need it in the spring. I know the guy pretty well though. It will probably be outside in the snow all winter.

Ex-spouses (spices?), even the non-BSC ones, are an endless source of amusment . . . .. .
We had two bags of grass, 75 pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

Toward the end of my relationship with my now ex, while we were still trying to act as if things would get better, we went out looking at stereos (as the patched together lashup we had since college had finally given up the ghost) . . . . we did some comparison shopping, and she brought up some information and brands I was a little surprised she knew about . . . .

Turned out, the info was coming from a fella that she would later marry, after she and I divorced.

We remained on cordial terms, as neither of us was particularly at fault for the split . . . . just one of those things.

Oddly, a couple of years later, she contacted me, asking me my advice in the search for a new car . . . . .I chuckled that, as her EX husband, my intelligence had suddenly increased to more than that of her then husband.

I chuckled.

Enlighten me: Are there kids involved? Because, if not, why is there much, if any, contact with an ex once things are settled and signed?

We have kids and still hang with the same friends and are involved in some of the same activities together. Don't get me wrong, that will lessen when the kids move on.

I still get a Christmas card from her mom.

wow.  I kicked my EX to the curb back in 1999 and have seen her exactly once (in 1999) since then.  i have ZERO interest in EVER seeing that cumdumpster (oh wait, can i type that?) again. she tried to contact me on Myspace(?) once and i couldn't delete the message fast enough.

kudos to ya all that keep in touch and on civil terms with the Ex.

I would kill for some of that normalcy.

Meh I have one of each, or had one of each. My abbie-normal one is over since my boys are 21+ years old. I need not ever see or hear from her again.

My normal x and I are good enough friends. I think it helps that she was rich to begin with and to this day is still well off. Our daughter is 15 but I don't see our (X and I) relationship ending once she is 21. We were just not "mate" material.

You have probably assumed correctly! ;)

luckily, the big D was cake to go through since I had all the proof I needed to keep her in line and not dispute the things I was getting out of the divorce. Paralegal FTMFW!!!  Even had her signature to her admitting her indiscretions.  and the kicker....   her telling him that he was "lacking" in certain aspects, compared to me, concerning naughty time. OH YEAH!!!!!! guess the grass is NOT greener on the other side wench!!!

I find it odd that stuff even matters in court. I have always lived in no fault states. Your wife could make a gang bang video and sell it for profit and it matters not one bit in California.

First ex is somewhat nuts. I get a yearly e-mail wishing me a happy birthday and occasionally a whiny email because our oldest is so much like me :)

In between girlfriend was moderately stable although she was just getting out of a weird marriage. We're friends on Facebook and I'm pretty glad we didn't go further.

Second ex is nuts but in a different, saner way (if that makes sense). The hippy/new age/alternate medicine way. We're friends on Facebook and even text fairly regularly.

Currently dating a woman who's pretty cool so far and is maybe two steps below my level of sanity (I'm working on her :) ).

This is a depressing thread that was suppose to be about things that make you chuckle! Some of you have deep issues and obviously are a little bitter yet....(athem mr. 1999).  Do any of you guys see the common denominator here?

Im sure it was all her fault...and that makes me chuckle!

My brother-in-law likes to complain about my step-son and his bad habits. My brother-in-law is currently living in my loft and my step-son is living in the spare bedroom. Neither of them pay a dime. Cracks me up.

My son said his mom has a problem with our Christmas arrangements. When I asked her about them and if they were ok, she told me "I told you its fine last week". Why do you keep asking me?

My son always puts it into perspective for me. "Ha ha, that mom. Dont worry dad, I'll have Grace and I there as planned. Ill deal with her."

Love that kid.
