2018 was a great running year for me. Here are my numbers:
Miles: 941
Runs: 158
Miles per run: 5.96
Lifetime miles: 26,004
In 2018 I did nine races. Seven of them were part of the Super Series of races we have here in the Province of NB where you get points depending on your result by age category. It turns out that I finished 5th in the points in the Province in my age category for the year. There are better runners than me that had fewer points but they also ran fewer points races.
Here are two screen shots. One shows the final rankings and the other my individual points race rankings per race. Notice that I finally won the Dam Race

on the last points race of the year.

Receiving a 3rd place medal at April 7th race before I shaved off my winter beardNot all races are part of the Super Series of races or points races. I did two races other than the seven Super Series races mentioned above. I did a half marathon under 2 hours (1:59:13) and a 5k race just under 25 min (24:53). Those two races were on certified courses. I managed to bring down my over 60 years old 10k time to 51:11 which was not on a certified course. I tried to break 51 on the last race of the year but I failed. However, as stayed above, I did win that race in my age category.
I was healthy all year except for a slight hamstring pull in August after I got back from my Alaska bike trip. That set me back a little bit and I had to hold back for one race after that.
I’ll continue to run and race in 2019 as long as my body holds up to it.
