I scored an 88 including selecting a wrong answer by mistake.  No matter, I still missed it.

Who / Whom really got me, I missed that one.

I scored better than any English class I've ever taken.  That's got to count for something.

Fixed.  I got 78%.  I made a few mistakes by reading it quickly without thinking.  There were two that I didn't know.

I got a 91% -- affect/effect got me . . . . always does . . . . . . I've spent my entire life writing around these two words.

Sad, innit?
We had two bags of grass, 75 pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

The trick there is that Affect is the Action word (verb).

I got 100% but in a couple of cases I couldn't tell you the rule I was following; I just went with the phrasing I would ordinarily use.

But writing is a big part of my work. I pretty much have to get this stuff right all the time.

I got a 72%.

That's a way better than I ever got in English class.

I got 100% but in a couple of cases I couldn't tell you the rule I was following; I just went with the phrasing I would ordinarily use.
But writing is a big part of my work. I pretty much have to get this stuff right all the time.

And it shows. Reading your replys and especially your ride report was a pleasure. I guess if that's what you do, you become better at it.
Me (I ?) only write when I'm here. The last 40yrs working in the construction trades I had little need for grammar.  (it shows :()

If you don't use it you lose it.  (I didn't have much to begin with.)

OK I've got one more excuse, 9 times outta ten I've got a pretty good buzz on when I'm sitting here typing.
