G310R ?
« on: December 08, 2015, 07:34:47 AM »
Somehow I missed this.

So BMW is jumping into the 250/300 market. I'm guessing they are behind the sentiment that America is ready for the 'less is more' approach?

Most of the pics have a girl riding it, so maybe they are hoping to appeal to women riders too, nothing wrong with that, but I think they need to make it appealing to the male market too if they want it to succeed. Maybe the 'richster' (rich-hipster) market?

No price yet, 345 lbs, 31 inch seat standard.

Your thoughts?

Which thumper motor is this?  I've seen 650 thumpers in BMWs and believe they were Bombardier made units.

Is this a new mill for BMW?

And, I'm with Miles, a 350 GS would be great (especially for real adventure exploring!!!).  I'd get one in a heart beat.

And. Yeah. Not for the US market. Want to bet it's an A2 compliant machine for the Euro market, and small-displacement for the Asian? Coming here because 'why not'?

The U.S. does not buy enough small motorcycles.

Think guys, why do you think they're partnering with an Indian company?

This could be great news.  This is a very big deal if it's real.

They really want to sell a ton of these, so maybe they might take a chance here?

310R has been a done deal for months, scheduled to be here Q4... GS to follow as early as Q1 '17.
