Finally put those leftover bags of quickcrete to use last night by making a wood splitting station.  I had a round concrete...thing.  Not even really sure what it was but it was about 5 feet round and it was a concrete ring about 6 to 8 inches tall and about 4 inches thick.  I went and loaded up a small trailer load of that fine shale and made a base for the ring.  I leveled it out...ish...and placed the ring on it.  Leveled the ring...ish... and proceeded to mix 7 bags of concrete in a wheelbarrow to fill the ring.  2 bags at a time cuz more would just be stupid.  Still managed to come up short by about an inch so I'll need to get more concrete to bring it up to the top of the ring as well as make a 3x3 place for me to stand so I'm not constantly fighting rocks and roots while trying to swing the splitter.

Chopping firewood will be a very real and very steady part of my future so I might as well make it comfortable.

I worked til 0630hrs. got to my apt and slept til 1200hrs. drove home. Took family out to check the progress of our new home. took a bunch of pics. took family to Red Lobster. headed over to Honda to look at the new Honda Pilot. then drove over to Ford to catch the drool from my wife as she gazed at the new 2016 Explorer Sport with the TT Ecoboost. I'm not a Ford fan but dang, that actually looked pretty sweet. hmmm..

now home eating DQ and surfing.

Wow! Lotta spoons. Lotta plates. Lotta bowls. Lotta sticks.

I'm speechless.

Just put it all in a bucket and give me a ladle. And what the ladle won't pick out; I have fingers.

No need for a secret menu. The regular one was in Chinese so it looked like lots of funky Christmas ornaments to me.

Almost finished up a roll of film for a international project we've got going on. 4 more frames to go.

Project consists of sending a cheap 35MM point and shoot 'round the world, shoot a roll of B&W,send the film to project originator (Germany) for processing and camera to the next (also Germany) in line. Been shooting the roll since Dec 2014.

spent my day looking for ideas for organizing my garage. I can NOT wait to start putting things together. I just hope I can get enough time to actually get it done. Since I got married, I have yet to complete a garage before moving again. hmmm, I hope 15 years (the time both kids are done with High School) is enough time.

I did something similar with mine- but I fully enclosed it with insulation and put a furnace filter on one side- it made it WAY quiet when it runs.

If it weren't for the therapeutic properties of the occasional off-camber decreasing radius downhill right-hander I'd almost certainly go completely sane.

Went to our local theme park (Michigan's Adventure) with my family and my brother's family and turned a thrill ride rating of "1" into a 4 or 5.
