putting records in alphabetical order. just having 3 genres: general, jazz, blues and classical. so, just having 4 genres.

now, does Taj mahal go under blues or in the general bit? where do Fats Domino or Bo Diddly go? am I creating a racially segregated classification?

I had no idea that sorting records had so many ethical pitfalls.

It gets worse.   Several years ago I decided to organize my jazz collection by artist.  1000+ titles. First name or last?  What about solo artists who sometime appear in groups?  How do you file collaborations; by the artist who is listed first or by your favorite?  Do you mix the DVDs in with the CDs.  Do you keep them all together with the tapes and vinyl albums? Arrrgh!

It’s much easier to stream.    My new Marantz has native internet. Personally,I don’t think the fidelity is quite as good, that is when I’m able to find the tiles on the iPad and actually listen to it.
I totally agree, the quality is down.

weirdly, I've found a couple of records I would never buy. sadly, a few seem to have gone missing. strangely, only the really rare and valuable ones.

and I organised by first name. all collaborations ended up in various. there's quite a lot in various.

and vinyl sounds much nicer than streaming.

Replaced a valve in the downstairs toilet, talked my wife into giving me a haircut (looks good), and made Vidalia latkes for dinner.

I pressure washed my ugly green plastic lawn chairs. My wife washed the windows in the trailer. I had a peanut butter sandwich for lunch. And I spent the entire day as I have for the past 8 weeks scratching my head trying to figure out WTF my neighbours are doing.
My GPS just told me to turn left, then turn left, then turn left, then turn left.
So if I go too far left do I end up right?

but what if it was composed in 1690 but not recorded until 2012? or recorded in 1997 and remixed in 1999? or nobody knows when it was recorded? or, or

By release date of the album/CD. I have an 1812 by Telark. I don't sort it from when Tchaikovsky wrote it but when Telark recorded and released the album.

Published dates are on the spine or elsewhere on the media.

Thursday a big box got delivered, today I opened it. Nope no rabbit shitting golden eggs (chocolate would have been cool though). THe box contained a complete new exhaust for the Dodge Cummins truck. Today I removed the exhaust (post turbo to exhaust tip) and installed the new kit. Was 3 inch now 4 inch ID, free flow muffler OH Baybe she sounds great! EGT have dropped a bit.
THe new exhaust seems to have added a lot to the previous mods (Mild tuner, 7x.09 injectors matched to 320 pop +100HP). Exhaust note seems a bit throatier, and I can hear the turbo when decelling. Maybe a different muffler ?? probably not as it really is not that much louder. Heck the engine noise is 95db with a DB meter laying on the front wheel (in the wheel well).

Nice. In the Hot Hatch clusters (is a group of Hot Hatches called a "cacophony"?) we call that a "turbo-back".

Today I discovered that there's more to the scotch tape repairs that have been made by the previous owner of our condo.  The bottom weather-stripping on the storm door was sagging. Upon investigation, it was held up by scotch tape.

It's a low priority, but I'm going to look into replacing this the right way.  Fortunately its a big name door so I'll be able to find the correct parts.

Took down another big tree yesterday. Got it cut to length and limbed. Rented a 12 inch electric Stihl chainsaw which we both fell immediately in love with. Kim is way more comfortable for many reasons so much more gets done. Today we took it into the woods to do some trail clean up and so she could get more comfortable with it. That 40 dollar rental just cost me several hundred dollars.   :-\

Relocated the back yard dart board, dug in some 12/15/20/25ft markers into the ground in front of it. Should take care of the stripe that we were wearing in the grass.

Experimented with a couple of different styles of para-cord handle wrapping for the cheapo fiberglass handled hatchets. Hate to say it, but those cheapo bastards have outlasted all of the wooden ones we bought, at a 1/4 the price. I may have to spray bomb them though since the yellow handles are just SO ugly...

Finish sanded and painted the repair made to the shop's door frame (done back when it was still cold).

This is what happens when I ignore the news a few days. I start seeing all this "murder hornet" stuff, and I just kinda don't even care what it all means, and don't go looking.

I had my three-month (to the day!) post-op check-up this morning down in Hershey. Incision looks good. Recent irritation is likely nerve regeneration (the slightest thing touching the incision...even a HAIR...felt like someone was rubbing my neck with sandpaper). X-rays do not yet show any bone material "outreach" toward the upper and lower verterbrae, but it's very early, so that's OK. Got cleared to add back in yoga, cycling, non-contact basketball, and light resistance training. Motorcycling, too, although he really hesitated before he OK'd that one and I'm still leery about the whole thing. I honestly thought that was going to be a six-month YES, not a three-month YES. I really wanted a pickleball YES, but that's still a NO.
I used to make a bigger impression.

4.5 hours worth of music recording for the next four church services.  I am REALLY enjoying playing the bass- but that's a long stretch of recording.

Ooh, I hear that. I had that with both knees. I couldn't wear riding pants with knee pads for a good year or more, and I wore super loose pants or sweat pants most of the time for at least 6 months when I could. Regular sized jeans were just murder for a while.

SO... if you followed the Minor Inconveniences thread, some time ago I was complaining that one of the plans we had made to celebrate my 50th B-Day this year included a trio to the ink parlor for some permanent artwork. Technically not our first tattoos, but our firsts were our wedding band replacements at 15 years hitched and pretty small and unobtrusive.

Other plans included a big trip to Mexico with friends and has officially been put on temporary hiatus due to travel restrictions and the destination resort not wanting people to die or be unable to leave. I get it.

That said though, our artist was able to reopen and reschedule this last week. Saturday night, the Mrs. and I permanently checked the 'visible marks' check box as follows:

Turns out, photoshop is your friend when designing to get EXACTLY what you want. Our artist was thrilled because we came in with an obviously thought our plan, and there wasn't any question whether her interpretation matched her customers sketchy explanations. I think they turned out pretty good, and fairly true to the mockup I offered back during the design phase. Is this still Non-Moto related given the subject matter?

Colorado State flag. We are blessed with a flag with easily utilized iconography. Clothing, stickers, artwork of all stripes work very well with the bold colors and easy iconography.

Congrats. Mine were done with some sample art provided or with discussions with the artists and reviewing his mock-ups to confirm we were on the same page. Beats the hell out of those old "walls of fail" options every place has for impulse buyers.

I'll own up to the FIB label (without the left lane bandit nonsense), but I will never be a FIBTAB.

Started practicing to turn a bunch of huge stumps into hardcore flower pots. Harder than it looks.

Took a three day weekend for doctors appt. and dealing with house stuff. Dr's appt. was a total waste of time, got a lot done with the house though. The mortgage company is picking the fly shit out of the pepper big time. Their latest was they wanted proof I didn't owe child support. I'm 62, my girls are 29 and 30, and I had full custody, which I told them. Hopefully that will settle it, I mentioned we had excellent credit, money in the bank and offers from other mortgage companies to handle the purchase, just in case.

I'm on as Maggie Geppert.  You can see all my very boring rides mostly on the same route.  Sometimes rides are less boring, like yesterday when it got cut short because there was police activity on the bike path. :o
