Yesterday I was standing at the kitchen sink when I heard the neighbor and his toddler son outside talking. It was so clear that I knew they had to be standing between our houses so I opened the blind a little more to see. Sure enough, right outside the window.
I slowly angled the blinds closed a little and, in a deep voice, said, "HO HO HO! Have you been a good boy for Santa this year?"
I heard his dad ask, "Did you hear that?"
In an small, amazed voice, I heard the toddler reply, "Yes..."
"Who was it?"
"Santa!"
"And have you been a good boy?"
"Yes..."
... And so on. I slowly opened the blind where the dad could see me but the boy couldn't. As I smiled and waved, he smiled and gave a slight nod. My day was made.
