They usually don't want you to eat any red or orange Jell-O before,  but don't say anything about green.  It turns everything inside a very pretty shade of seafoam.  My doctor was very impressed.

Just did that Thursday.

Had great fun with the anesthesiologist.

"What's on the menu today?"
"Fentanyl."
"Oh, am I going to be able to talk to the machine elves and see fractals and sacred geometry?"
Wry, knowing smile. "No, I'm sorry but we can't give you that here'" She knew what I was talking about.
"You gave it to me already, didn't you?"
Giggling, "yes."
"I thought so, you looked kind of 2D." I feel like I should try and fight it, instead of just going with the flow."
Giggling, "Go ahead."
 Last thing I remember.
You never see a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrists' office.

I've had the pleasure of drinking that wonderful stuff 6 or 7 times now. My dad died of intestinal cancer 45 years ago so I made sure to keep getting checked out and it was a good decision. The 1st time they found pollups that were starting to turn. The 2nd time they found less and from the 3rd time on NOTHING.
Enjoy. ☺
My GPS just told me to turn left, then turn left, then turn left, then turn left.
So if I go too far left do I end up right?

Yes.

Things went well.  One polyp, he took a sample.   Down the top end he found something near the stomach related to the liver.  He's gonna ultrasound it next week.  Nothing to worry about.

He breakfast with my bride (steak and eggs!) on the way home.  Downing the liquid sucked, the procedure was cake.  No problems at all.

I ripped out the front part of the ceiling in my rv. The water has been pouring in for years and running down behind the fiberglass cap so until the ceiling started sagging I had no idea. It was all rotten wood and soaking wet insulation and mould. Yuk.

That sucks. But it's also the main reason we bought aluminum and fiberglass this time. Good luck with the fix.

I would love to view them.
However, they are so HUGE my screen explodes when I try.  :wow:

I painted the Foyer. It's got 20ft. high cathedral ceilings.
Hopefully I'll finish tomorrow. :-\

Spent all day Saturday cooking in prep for the informal pot-luck/memorial for Mom tomorrow.

Loaf of homemade honey white bread. Loaf of home made sourdough bread. Large, double-batch of navy beans (and ham).

Also rebuilt a Plex server from a rescued WinTel PC with the help of the cheapest spinning HDD I could snag for a data drive.

Love that pic of D8 the Ruptured Duck. I worked on DC-3's for years. Basically it was check the avgas and fill up the oil tanks and then whack the carbs with a hammer before changing the blown oil coolers (again). And often done with a flashlight in my mouth in the pitch dark at minus 40 degrees. Do I miss those times?

Went to my parents 60th wedding anniversary party. This was supposed to be a surprise party thrown by my siblings and I. Dad decided this was a big deal (which it is) and wanted to plan a party himself. What he didn't know was my cousins and their wives were coming in from England for the party. We had to tell them what he had planned and that we had to keep the date because of all the people we had already told (not that we couldn't change the date because my cousins already had booked their flights). Party went perfectly. Good turn out. Great food and a wonderful surprise when my cousins walked in. We also surprised them that we are going on a family vacation (the 12 of us to Traverse City tomorrow for a few day, then they go to Chicago with my cousins at the end of the week). It was a great night and am looking forward to time with the family over the next few days. We haven't been in a family vacation since I was a teenager. Should be fun.

We had 2 of our nieces come up for a visit this weekend.  They spent the night Friday.  It was fun.  We took them for a ride on the bikes (their request) Friday night, then we got the quad out and that was when the real fun started.  Then we did some shooting.  The 14 y/o is quite the shot.  She even ran through 5 shots on the 930 SPX w/ high brass .00 buck.  The look on her face...

Speaking of nieces visiting, ours comes up Thursday night and will be with us through the 30th or 31st...still TBD. She's 6. We're taking her camping this weekend, including a ride up to see the PA elk herd in Benezette. Next week while CB is at work, we'll have a tea party, get pedicures, see a movie, and possibly visit Knoebel's (weather permitting). Last summer when she visited, we read a chapter of the first Harry Potter book each night (and a few extra during some parts of the days) to be able to finish the book during her visit. We used my copy. For her birthday this year, I bought her the first book, but the illustrated version. I just bought the second book (illustrated) (there's what I did non-moto) and it'll be waiting for her on the guest bed when she arrives Thursday night. We'll read as much of it as we can while she's here and then she can take it home and finish it with her parents.
I used to make a bigger impression.

The Boys was great! The wife and I both loved it, and we're not really superhero fans. It was a nice twist on the genre. Looking forward to season 2, though they just started filming, so it'll be a while.

Sent the wife off to work, then loaded mutts into the van to hunt National Park passport stamps.  There’s a bumper crop around Albany - Saratoga Springs NHP, Erie Canalway in several places, Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area with about a dozen different sites.  Three were closed today out of published schedules and I got nine this morning.  Score!

Nay.

Rape, crazy violence, death by face-sitting, explicit murder, implied sexual violence, etc.

For those who like the lead, Anthony Starr, check out Banshee - 4 seasons, fantastic show. Also, probably not for kids. Many of the same reasons. Except the death by face sitting.

I completed a small but satisfying organizational project at the new home.

There's a hall linen closet with the bottom partially blocked off off by an angled wall due to the basement stairs.  The closet is a good use of space, but the cutoff is a waste of space and an affront to our obsession over organization.  My wife suggested that the space could hold the portable vacuum's tools, which were taking up the better part of a shelf in the same closet.  So after pondering how to put shelves on a wall angled back and away, I realized the angle meant that they didn't have to be very deep, and the attachments were very light.  So, I found clear plastic corner protectors like you frequently see guarding the drywall corners of houses with rambunctious kids.  8 feet long with one inch sides.  I cut them to length and nailed them in to hold the tools, and the vac's wall docking station was able to be secured to the closet's sidewall with the cord going under the door to an outlet next to the closet (and hidden by furniture).

It's not the biggest or most ambitious project, but it helps make the new place more efficient and we're happier for it being done.

The stone foundation on one of my daughter's barns collapsed a few years ago and now the insurance company wants it fixed. So I excavated and have a dirt ramp leading down to the not wall. We poured a footing and installed 10" block. Today we got the last course in below the sill beam which is 12" x 12" x 20'. Tomorrow it will be a top plate and shims to take the load.
The barn is about 150 years old and now it should last another 150 years.
I'll check on it from "afar".  :)

Cut down two 60' red cedar trees at the local cemetery.  My dad is the sexton.  Saved the wood!

Also stood in a grave that was being dug at the spot.

Got home yesterday from an epic 11 day road trip, from Bonney Lake through Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Zion and Bryce canyon to some friends in Flagstaff, out to the Grand Canyon, then Las Vegas, up the Extraterrestrial Highway, lunch at the Little Aleinn, signed the Black Mailbox at Area 51, out to Lake Tahoe, through the giant sequoias and redwoods to Eureka, up the coast to Newport, then back home.

Had a great time even though we drove the Sonata. We went from sea level to around 9000 feet and 115 degrees in some places, 85 mph crossing the desert and still got 35 mpg.

It would have been a fun ride on the bike but these days 3600 miles at a time would be hard and the heat would have been miserable. We were thinking a motorhome and trailer for the bike would be fun at some point (I know it's sacrilege, but age and injuries catch up after a while).

I fully sympathize.  Didn't miss a bike much the last couple weeks in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.  The van was quite nice to use with plenty of stretch room and hauling capacity not to mention the air conditioning and electric cooler for water and Cokes.  2800 miles of playing tourist with the wife and two dogs.   :bigok:

Moved the Klipsch Forte IIs from the living room home entertainment center to the "computer room". Now dubbed the "music room". Hooked them up to a find I made this week. A Leak tube amp (Stereo 60 and Varislope Stereo preamp) that had production dates between 1958 to the early 60s. Everything gone through by the antique electronics place I stumbled across. All caps, tubes, resistors tested-and-replaced, etc.

Still waiting for the rack to come in but I couldn't wait to power it up.

Sounds really good.

Cleaning all the unused bedroom carpets.  It’s good to own a commercial carpet cleaner.

Trying to set up the new cartridge on my Clearaudio deck. The deck's anti-skate settings are UNDERNEATH THE FECKING DECK. German cockwombles.

Working on the K1300GT reminded me once again how bloody minded the Herbert's can be. There's a logical way, a difficult way and a bloody Jeeman way, I think they do it on purpose.

I don't understand how I could have gotten suckered TWICE and bought a BMW after my K12RS fiasco. Now I've got an R11S with a baffed ABS pump that costs $4280 Cdn plus installation and tax. My Blackbird never needed a thing in 6 years. And it's not like I ride 10,000 kms a year. I'm averaging 4000-6000kms per year.
I'm betting my CBF1000 could go 10 years without even changing the oil of adjusting the chain.
My GPS just told me to turn left, then turn left, then turn left, then turn left.
So if I go too far left do I end up right?

But back on topic.....
Today I'm going to shave and get a haircut. Right now I'm posting useless information while regretting that I couldn't go to Marietta Ohio. Later this afternoon I have to install weepers and gravel before backfilling an excavation.
Everyone reading this is really thrilled to hear right?

Oh believe me, he already knows. Besides, he blew off the whole weekend. His camp in Maine.
