What? No cup.

Lots of cups.  You just need to shift your perspective.

Yep, she's our teammate and fortunately the wheelchair was temporary!

Thx...   Glad to hear it's temporary (and no break)!

This weekend was all about the gardens.  We picked the first bucket of peaches of the season, harvested another batch of tomatoes, fertilized the veggie garden, removed an unused irrigation line, and bought materials to build a sun shade for the garden work area.

Today the Mrs. is starting on the peach jam and pizza sauce.

On vacation this week so a laundry list of things to do.

Scheduled: Replace windshield in truck. Check the brakes and rotors on the truck.

Done for Monday: Reconfigure workstation so I can continue my Red Hat 7 Exam studies. Bike ride around the lake. Haircut. Review, okay, and submit paperwork for trip to Ireland/Scotland/England/Isle of Man in October. Fix front porch light. Work on some code changes for the systems at work (importing software and versions).

Started the reorg of my game room. It's just too disorganized. Plus beginning/continuing the Red Hat 7 studies.

Still todo today, take Slash out to the park in the afternoon when it's cooler.

Jeanne's cousin is getting married in Mississippi but is having the reception in Scotland, Norway, and Italy (or something like that). We're riding down to Mississippi in September and then flying to Ireland for the reception and some siteseeing :) Jeanne was commenting, "maybe we can rent a motorcycle and race around the track on The Isle of Man".

Up at 3:30.
Left for the Cape at 4:0.
Kayaked with my son for a couple of hours, swam, drank good coffee, smoked good cigars, ate a great burger and back home by 3:30.

Napped for a half hour and now back out for the usual Monday routine.

Connected one of my Acer 22" monitors, my old Apple Wireless keyboard and Apple Mouse to my MacBook Pro. Fewer pixels but it's easier to read :)

I'll be trying this in the morning to access work and try a few script things out.

Edit: Interesting that I've had this mouse for 11 years now (since I got my first Mac Laptop) and back then I really didn't like it. It was too different than the way I was used to using a mouse (well, trackball) so I put it away. I was getting this workstation thing set up and the Mac auto-discovered the mouse which was off and over tucked in next to a couple of boardgames across the room. I turned it on, brought it over, Paired it, and after using a Mac at work for the past 4 or 5 years, using this mouse seems pretty natural now.

Pretty much.   The cord attaches to the motor with open bolts.   I'm pretty sure it's pre-OSHA.

  I'm pretty sure it's pre-OSHA.

Took the truck in yesterday to have the brakes and rotors checked. It pulses when stopping and the front left makes noise when stopping from time to time (not always).

The guys at Firestone chuckled over the spiderwebs throughout the rear brake assembly (hey, I ride the bike when I can :) ).

They called yesterday afternoon to run over the brake inspection.

New brake pads
Flush the brake fluid
Turn the rotors
Clean out and adjust the rear drums

In addition, they suggested a new battery (rated at 500, at 350 right now). I said to hold off on that. It'll work through the summer and I can snag a new one before winter kicks in. They said the oil was okay but was down a quart or so. No problem, I have oil, I'll take care of that.

Plus the tie rod head was loose and the wheel bearings needed to be repacked.

$500 for the brake stuff, another $250 for the tie rod and wheel bearing work.

Sounds good, go.

Stopped in this morning to get the truck.

Replaced the front rotors. They were too thin after turning. Okay, would have been nice if they'd let me know but I can deal with that.

Took care of the rest without a problem.

As he ran over the inspection, the things I passed on, he mentioned the battery ("yea, I got that"), oil needed to be changed ("you said needed a quart"), the coolant should be flushed ("you didn't mention that at all"), and the differential service ("again, you didn't mention that either").

The coolant I can handle without a problem but differential at $20 I would have said "go for it too" had it been mentioned since they were under the truck anyway. That's why I agreed on the tie rod head and wheel repack. You got the thing apart anyway, take advantage of the situation.

Got to the truck and the seat was all the way forward. Really guys? You couldn't push the seat back?

Part disposal, etc made the total $875.

"Hey, you can save $80 if you get a Firestone credit card."

"Nah, I don't come in all that often and I don't really need another card in my wallet or safe that I don't use."

Washed the camper... for maybe the third time in 5 years.  :)  Replaced the lines that go from the propane tanks to the distributor thingy since one was leaking.  Replaced current propane tanks with full tanks.  Installed new battery.  Tried to get the bent stabilizer bar straight again unsuccessfully.  Put epoxy on large unpleasant looking crack in the front of the camper.  Checked and adjusted pressure in all 4 tires.

Kim cleaned the inside which included removing every single thing in the camper and washing it and scrubbing every surface inside the thing.  It's 31 feet long so that was no small feat.  We're set for an upcoming trip to Maine / New Hampshire.
