Busted my ass setting up shat to entertain the in-laws coming over for my daughter's birthday party (everything has to be just so), grilled meat far past well done to their liking (managed a couple of rare burgers for myself and aforementioned awesome daughter), hung out, had a few beers, celebrated birthday, spent time taking shat down.  Sweated my ass off, took a dip in the pool, now I'm finally sitting in the barn enjoying my own whiskey.  Do I sound bitter?     That might be a passive aggressive post...

Screw all that.  I'm going for a ride.  On the XR.  Later!

Fixored.  I'm breaking forum protocol and I don't care.   :blbl:

After that shot^ I got in a trail I knew was there but occasionally had weeds over my head.  I could tell where I was going thanks to the trees.  It was a little scary, but I kept it right side up.

I really should have put on the knobbies, but this was a last minute ride.

Did some landscaping I see.

Spent the weekend driving little old ladies and their daughters around in a Chrysler minivan. Amazingly that thing has some get up and go if you mash it.

Spent Father's Day (sorry for the late news) filling a 24' cube van, full of 1 house.
It overflowed with suckage, but friend had to do it solo if'n I had bailed...
Sunny, warm and humid.
Poifect day for any form of two-wheeling.

It's rained every single weekend since forever. Hauling the mountain bike to Wisconsin to see if I remember how.

You might want to check the radar.

Made it home about an hour before the rain. Was too excited to be on the bike and pushed too hard; I bonked dangerously bad on the way home and was nodding off behind the wheel.

Still, sunny day with 25 miles of single track, only broken part was my saddle that threw a rail and had to be hiked out the last two miles. Wonderful day.

For all the people that reside there, the center of the universe must be awfully crowded.

Yesterday I had a rotator cuff fixed and something or another done to my bicep tendon. Today I've been taking perkocet and dilauded.

This hurts worse than the full knee replacement.

Seriously. Doc said it would be bad. He was not wrong.

Yep - the John Muir trails are some of the best riding in the country.  Super flowy, uni-directional, a bunch of route options, and great facilities.

Not my pic but you get the idea.

My son came to me last month and said he had a week off in June and would like to spend it here.

How would that not turn out well?

Yesterday we mountain bikes for a few hours, Monday we shot large caliber handguns, tonight were having a good grillfest on the deck.

Today.

My idiot youngest called me from Spain at 0200 saying he was 43p short for a taxi and could I send him some money.

I didn't sleep well after that and got up at the usual time of 0445. I was planning to sleep until 0700 as I had an important interview at 0910 a mere 15 miles away.

Got to my car (had to wear a suit). Car was broken.

Wifey lent me her car.

Found I'd lost my mobile phone.

Start to panic. Like idiot son.

Gave a duff interview.  :bash: I needed that job. What an idjut.

Went home, gave wifey her car back and drove the bike around the horrible motorways to work.

IT had removed my computer. I had a major report on that computer. I leave work tomorrow and IT have fecked up again. Bastards.

Had various meetings. Everyone unhappy because of 50% redundancies. Great gloom at work.

IT still hasn't fixed things. Fecking IT.

Gave up at 1530 and went home.

Shot 3 rounds of trap and 1 round of skeet before 11am with my trusty Browning A5. Managed to pull out a 23 out of 25 in that last round of trap.

Then went to work in the afternoon.  >:(

And it's going to be 106 today.  >:( >:(

since MIL took the kiddies, wife and I went test driving for her next vehicle (current test drive faves - #1. Ford Explorer Sport TTv6 & #2. Jeep GC Summit). Only drove the Nissan Pathfinder. Loved it!! Toyota Highlander - W.T.F.!!  Door seals are your selling point? Mazda CX-9 - W.T.H.!! SO ARCHAIC it didn't even warrant a door opening. might hit Honda some other day. No GMs in consideration.

according to her...

#1 (by a smidge) - Nissan  (mainly for the price point. even fully loaded, still a bunch cheaper than the Ford)
#2 - Ford
#3 - Jeep

had direct TV installed last week, what a professional experience. Guy was there right at 8:00, SHowed him where to put the dish. "OK, I'll get back to you in a bit."  he went to work, and hour later he showed me how to run everything and had all the remotes programed for all the devices and was on his way..

Great service..

as for today... lunch stop:

^ very nice!

In the last week my truck died, K's Hyundai died, my ex wifes car was totaled and last night the VW died, leaving us with the bike only.

Got the call yesterday that the truck was ready but I had no way to get there.

Today I replaced a coil pack and put new plugs in the Hyundai.
This is a good thing since I don't want to ride to work in this in the morning.

Did a bunch of spraying, some trail maintenance, and cleared a potential spot for a tree stand at my hunting property.

Caught a little salamander and saw a wolf spider the size of my palm.  Possibly the biggest one I have seen.  I was cutting a log and it came scrambling over the top- that got my attention!  I love working in the woods.

That's a proper set up. Well done.

That's right - the fridge is ACROSS THE ROOM so a proper setup is to have the beer cooler within arms reach of the couch!

Yesterday I went to a car show. Lots of the usual. Found a few gems.

For Papa.

The real deal. And it wasn't in the show.

I've shared pics of my dad with one of these when he was a young laddie.

For John and Colleen. What really blew me away was the owner remembered racing against my uncle back in the 60's and 70's. I spent a good hour talking to him.  :beerchug:
