I was walking through the snow and found a camera.  These were the last pictures on it…

Supermoto-ing in a winter wonderland.

This was from before winter really hit.  We were a few days late in clearing indoor space and had to thaw the bikes and scoot them around in the snow.  The fleet is now tucked in snuggly for the winter.

My dad just bought a '11 KLR! Super fun! I kind of like the single cylinder & huge suspension travel. Maybe I should get me one of them there KLRs...

That front fender looks awful!   :-\

Otherwise the KLR is a fun bike.  I had a proper Kawasaki lime green 2006 and it was fun up until the tractor trailer killed it.

KLR - function over beauty!  That SuperMoto fender is *wayyyyy* better than the stock tongue.

The stock one isn't great, but there are plenty of options out there.  I think that one looks horrible.  It's out of whack to the size of a KLR, but on a rapidly turning pink version (the red NEVER lasts on those) I guess it could be worse.  To each their own.  It's just good to see it out running around and being used.  Way too many end up sitting somewhere.  When I bought my 2006 I found 5 year old KLR's with under 5k on them.  So sad.   :'(

I think you're also seeing the 17" front wheel in your assessment.  It *does* look a little odd but makes the bike mega fun!

Our bikes get ridden

Possibly.  It does look fun.  Have you considered the 705 kit?  I wanted to try it on mine but didn't get the chance.

Our pair are both 685's (and mine needs new rings this winter).  Awesome difference in performance from stock, without the need for major head work!
