Bought some Los Trejos silver when we were in Hawaii.  It was good, but I personally prefer Espolon and as a bonus it's cheaper (couldn't find any in Waikiki).

Several of my co-workers are fans of whiskey and we all have different types at home in our cabinets.  So, we’ve decided to get together at my house and do a tasting night.

I’m offering up hors d'oeuvres along with the following:

Bourbon:  Willett Pot Still Reserve, Makers 46, and Four Roses Single Barrel

Scotch:  Glenlivet 12 and Laphroaig 10 (single malts) along with Johnnie Walker Black (blend)

Irish:  Redbreast 12

Canadian:  Crown Royal

Our request is that they bring your favorite whiskies to share.

This should be a good night.

We looked at our calendars and set the date for Feb. 15.  Wanna join us?

Can you sign them up here so they can drunk post too?

 :snork:

I'm going to put some sort of lock on my computers that evening.  Plus, we're only going to be sampling, not drinking.

I fly Delta multiple times each week, so they almost-always bump me up to first class.  They have Woodford Reserve, which is plenty fine for in the air.  Here's how stupid my life is - I flew back from NYC last night and I'm flying back today.

PS Four Roses Single Barrel is the only bourbon I drink in my home right now.  So worth the money.

Booze Map of the World Crushes Our Spirits

America! We have some work to do.

Not only are we not trumping the world’s other superpowers in the caffeine department, we are also drinking inferior booze.

We are, apparently, one vodka-drinking nation.

News site Quartz has assembled data from Euromonitor, a market research company, to create this map showing which country prefers which spirit (when given the choice among gin, vodka, rum, whiskey, tequila, and brandy). Although more than half the world prefers whiskey to any other spirit, most Americans belly up to the bar and pick vodka.

It’s possible that vodka drinkers are smarter than our bourbon-loving staffers. Even the worst vodka apparently causes you less horrible hangovers than expensive bourbon.

Click on over for the engrossing data; apparently the Dutch are gin-drinking fiends, and Italians go for rum. If nothing else, it’ll get you in the mindset for happy hour.

Depends on whether or not the spousal unit wants to stop for a beer when I get off work or not. If she does a micro brew from the independent ale house ( http://www.independentalehouse.com/  )  if not a PBR at the local biker bar.
