What better way to start this thread than 1050 strips of bacon. On a single burger.

Using an oval-shaped pie-dish, Mike weaved the bacon into separate halves and bunged them in the oven.

The icing on the cake was putting the extras inside, and Mike said of his finished work: "The egg conceals a couple of nice Cumberland sausages and some fried slices of black pudding – also on the plate; fried tomato, mushroom, potato slices, fried bread, baked beans and a fried egg (cooked to perfection with a liquid yolk) – and a nice mug of tea on the side."

The Mrs just picked up a package of locally made bacon for a BLT pizza I'm making this week. My first attempt at making sourdough pizza dough....

Stay tuned....

Oh...the "L" will be arugula from the garden. The "T", unfortunately, will be store-bought 'maters....

Turns out vampire bats like bacon too!

A vampire bat’s favorite food is bacon, study says.

http://www.redorbit.com/news/science/1113369507/a-vampire-bats-favorite-food-is-bacon-study-says-041115/

Writing in a recent edition of the Journal of Mammalogy, researchers from the National Institute of Amazonian Research in Manaus, Brazil analyzed the feces of vampire bats to find the favored prey of the creatures and found that they also seem to have a taste for “the other white meat.”

The team then spent a total of 47 nights in 18 villages in the Amazon region, capturing and collecting scat samples from a total of 157 vampire bats.

Once the authors adjusted the results based on the availability of the respective animals, they calculated that vampire bats actually preferred pork.
In their analysis, the authors also found no evidence of human DNA in the feces of the wild vampire bats, so we’re safe (for now).
