The return of Ad-Bot
« on: November 14, 2013, 03:03:49 PM »
I posted in the prognostications thread, but not everyone will notice it there.

And no, it's not me, this is the ORIGINAL AdBot from 2010 as per the registration date.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha is all I gotta say.

I sent AdBot a PM of support and praise and encouragement.

Okay, its gone!

The postbit ad position what was giving you those is removed while we sort this situation out. Now we just need to work on getting rid of that adbot that suddenly appeared on here. ;)

Neal's a dick

That's the spirit!  :bigok:

I've never admitted to being the perfect admin/moderator, it was impossible with this gang or a community that size for that many years.  You notice the posts are still there though.

I'm not going to moderate anything, but I find it rather pointless that people feel the need to troll a place they supposedly have no interest in anymore.  I just don't understand that mindset.

I have no skin in any game anymore, but don't you think it's fair that ST.N and ST.O both have drama free transitions?  At this point if someone wants to be a member of one, the other, or both shouldn't really matter, should it?

I'll go back to being a raging dick now.  :bigok:

Ok so here's the deal:

Ad-bot is a legend at STN, like Concho Heritage and a couple other sockpuppets.  Part of the allure is not completely knowing who's doing it.

By using administrative tools to out him, you're being a dick.

And by the by, the way you treated a few other members wasn't fair or right, imo.

No, I don't have my own forum, but I moderate on a forum or two and if one of the mods acted as you did, the rest of the team would have called him on the carpet.  It was your shop so do as you wish, but that still doesn't it make it respectable.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I understand your desire that this all be drama-free, Neal, but you kinda sold STN out from under us.

You know this crowd - what'd you expect?

On the dick-o-meter I think it was a 3.2/10, mild to moderate dickiness.

Okay... I know I'm going to probably take a beating on this, but I'm going to kill off Ad-Bot here too. We killed off the other two sock puppets, so I want to be fair to everyone and keep the same rules for all.

It's context. Ad-Bot isn't funny here. Ad-Bot sure as hell IS funny over there.
