I love blue KTM's.  I'm looking to buy a 350EXC next year and change the plastics to black since they don't make blue unfortunately.

990R the usual mods: sidestand relocator, skid plate, luggage rack(all from BDCW), superplush springs/revalve. Great bike, far better off road than one would think. the only thing that keeps it form being perfect is a lack of power on the road. Of course that is from a liter SS riders point of view so may not apply to everyone.

Still the best bike I have ever ridden, although the new 1190 is tempting....

I'll bet it looks a lot like the one pictured except with handlebars and a windshield.  :twofinger:

Runs fine but now burns oil (typical of that generation). Time for a top end rebuild this winter.

2004 200 EXC, tagged...

I sold my Husky 650 Terra a week or so ago since I rode it mainly on the street. Decided to replace it with a new 2015 690 Duke last Saturday...

The honeymoon lasted less than 3 hours. Rode it 100 miles to the house, and noticed it was handling much worse than the demo Duke I had ridden a couple of weeks earlier. Checked the tire pressure, and it was 17f/15r.

Notice the odometer pic I took as I was leaving the parking lot. The "000000" would foretell a lack of test ride after uncrating by the dealer. Which unbeknownst to me at the time would have uncovered further issues.

So, after finding the flat tires I decided to put the bike on the stand and do a once over to make sure there weren't any other issues. Good thing I did.

I noticed aluminum dust on the rear wheel and swingarm. Closer inspection revealed the source...

The sprocket carrier, sprocket, and bolts were making contact with the swingarm and being ground down.

I was able to contact the owner of the dealer, and he picked it up last Monday. They discovered that a circlip inside the sprocket carrier wasn't seated and allowed the carrier to ride against the swingarm. Parts have been ordered, and now I wait.

From reading various forums, I've found that KTM had this same issue on 2013 model Dukes. Apparently they either didn't fire/retrain the guy responsible, or hired another guy just as incapable.

And for the honor of having the dealer perform a piss-poor PDI, I paid a $400 "set up" fee. I'll be having a discussion with them about that once they get it fixed.
