CAT BOMB!

I should take more pictures of the expensive bastard we now own.  Cat we picked up from the shelter about a year ago had bladder stones and Kevin insisted on surgery.  It wasn't cheap and I'm still pissed off at the amount but it's coming out of the beer and TV budget (no tv for the bedroom  ;D).

frickin cats!!!  this one started hanging around last summer but you couldn't get near her. My wife said she would see her out by the barn every morning. This fall I kept finding her in the garage and she would let me pick her up ( and toss her out  :)) but, she just keeps coming back and the other day had 2 dead mice laying by the garage door when I got home. I guess she is earning her keep so I finally said screw it and bought some cat food for her. I guess we are buddies now?  hope I'm not turning into "that guy"?  ;D

That photo I posted, yeah that guy was a wild kitten. He was on the verge of starving so I put food and water out for him every morning. No one could get within 10 feet of him and he was a very angry cat. Eventually I trapped him and brought him in the house. Locked him in the spare bathroom with food, water, a bed and a cat box. Dropped in once or twice a day to say hi only to get bit and or hissed at.

About a week later, when I was convinced he knew what the cat box was for I left the door open. A month later he was no longer a skinny runt and occasionally explored the house. He eventually warmed up to the wife but no one else. I tried to pet or pick him up and it would always be a bad scene.

About a year later he was somewhat normal but you could not hold or pet him. Trust me I was bitten a lot trying. Taking him to the vet was always interesting. Vet assistant would ask, does he bite as he/she is reaching for him and I would say yes and they would jerk back their hands.

6 years later he is my best buddy. Follows me around, sits in my lap, sleeps on my feet, bites when we play (just not as hard) and acts like he is pouting when we leave. I didn't even like cats before this one.

You killed your cat on Christmas?

 It's a Pagan holiday. Is there a better time....?

I have three. Two of them are absolutely the most beautiful all-black cats I've ever seen. One has green eyes, one has yellowish, wolf-like eyes. The other one is a siamese. Also, a very beautiful example of one. I still shake my head about ending up with three cats... oy. What the hell was I thinking...?

This is Nin - this was Liz's cat right from the litter. She's about 6 or so. Very mellow, chill cat.

This is Absinthe. She's an unmitigated c$*t and I hate her. She and her sister Luna are from the same litter; we got them from a rescue home. There were on the kill list. They started out as barn cats, and their temperament is certainly indicative of that. Luna has a slightly glossier coat, greener eyes and there's a small white circle on her neck, front and center. She's much nicer than Abby. Abby is just a bitch. Did I mention hating her? It's a good thing she's so pretty. (has Clay on speed dial)

A friend called me this morning asking about the signs of a urinary blockage.  Looks like her male cat has the same problem with stones ours did.  They are also suckers and will probably pay for surgery like the SO did.  :(  I think the water in this county is messed up.  We're getting a RO filter after hearing about a second cat with the same thing.

I have a cat.  It's almost 19 years old.  I've had it the whole time.  I would post a picture of it, but the damn thing hides all the time.  Worst pet ever as a companion.  I barely know it's here.  Best pet ever for maintenance.  I barely know it's here.  I expect to find it's bloated carcass someday several days after it has died.

 Worst app ever.

I got a cat here that'd cure her huggin' thing. He likes the occasional belly rub, but he's not very "cuddley". I can pick him up for about 10 seconds before I get the claws, and he likes me.

Besides, she's got nothin' on this guy:
