Patience? To hell with that!
« on: June 08, 2014, 05:41:48 PM »
So I'm sitting here with the rain falling outside and I'm trying to NOT think about my upcoming ride. I travel light and have everything I need packed and/or ready. Putting new tires on this week. Other than that, the Viffer is ready. In fact, it stares at me every time we go out for a short excursion. As if to say, wtf was that? I honestly go through this anticipation before every ride. But somehow, this one is different. I'm primarily a solo rider. I have been on plenty of long distance/multi-day rides with groups ranging from 3 to 12. Quite honestly, I prefer 3 or less.

But the anticipation for this ride is somehow different. Although my trip will take me to, and allow me to see, areas I've never experienced before, this one is different. I think the idea of meeting people I've supported, cajoled, berated, shared, consoled & ridiculed; but never met, is exciting for me.

I look forward to meeting and talking to each and everyone in a couple of weeks.

I love what motorcycle travel can do for the soul.  Even the anticipation and thought of a ride can stir things.

I'm glad I'm not alone.  Have a hell of a trip!

There's a variety of food and beverage awaiting your arrival!   :bigok:  I know and love the anticipation of a big trip- it's almost as much fun as the trip itself (OK, not really, but it is fun!).

I just looked at the list of folks attending this meet and I fail to understand your enthusiasm.

Like I've said, I've seen the list of attendees.

I'll Pass.

Actually, the truth is my vacation time doesn't give me enough time to do this trip this year.  I'd love to make it for the same reasons Scrubby is looking forward to it (ride in an area I've never ridden before and hang out with the folks attending).  It looks to be a great time.   :bigok:

So who do we blame if it rains?

Sadly, this one will be a slab in, slab out ride for me to maximize time with you degenerates, but I share Scrubber's thoughts in that regard. Bring your swim trunks!
