I remember following this as it was trying to crowd fund. Never meant to buy any but it was funny to me (and lots of others). They had to re-jigger the stuff because it was so nasty tasting to begin with.

So, basically, it’s the Doctor’s “wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey.”  The universe can handle paradox up to a certain scale by “bending” around it.  So long as you don’t alter a “fixed point” in time, you can do most anything.
