Looking at somewhere new to spend 4-5 days riding out of as a hub. Been considering Laramie as a possible location. Are there enough good roads (paved) to spend that much time exploring the area?

What type of riding are you looking for?
For twisty asphalt, Southwest Wisconsin would fare higher on my list than Laramie WY.
My thoughts for asphalt + twisty + scenery near Laramie
1) Laramie WY to Yellowstone / Jackson WY / Beartooth Highway = 6+ hours of open space (straights with wide eyes horizon open) between Laramie and Jackson WY / Cody WY
2) Laramie to Custer SD = ~4 hours
3) Laramie to Grandby Colorado - (not stellar in itself - but a somewhat central point for north central CO roads??) = 2.5 hours
How about Montrose CO, Salida CO, Custer SD, Cody WY?

NO.

Laramie is in the boring wasteland part of the state. Head north/west to get to the good stuff. Jackson or Cody or Afton/Alpine or that area would be better to base out of than Laramie.
