I used to enjoy and anticipate WSBK as much or maybe even more than GP racing back in the GP era of 500 cc two-strokes. Seeing Honda and Suzuki compete on 500s was a very theoretical exercise. It was like nothing I'd ever ride. But something more along the lines of Scott Russell on a ZX7 against Carl Fogarty on a V-twin Ducati was something I could relate to more. As I mentioned in my post, I don't think I ever enjoyed a title fight more than the 2002 Honda/Ducati Edwards/Bayliss WSBK season (though by then they were both on V-twins).

I regret that Dorna is intent on dumbing down WSBK just to exalt MotoGP. MotoGP doesn't need protection. It's doing fine.

Four gallons of Tomatillo-Hatch Chile Clam Chowdah.

Are you shipping?

Sorry, man. You gotta come get it.

Now that someone is instrument rated that might happen sooner rather than later.

Let the best manufacture and rider win.  But, to penalize winning teams by dumbing down their engines, etc... is a ridiculous concept to me.  I am not a fan of these new rules.

 That's pretty much it in a nut shell.

Want to be entertained, watch the battle for 2nd or 3rd if the leader is a lap ahead.

I get it, nobody wants to see the same people winning again and again and again.  I am not most people and selfishly wish more were like me.  If a team has a dominate set up and the best rider, it's fun to see how well that match up can work.  And, it's fun watching the other teams trying to play catch up.

WSBK appeals to me because the bikes should be more evenly matched than a MotoGP prototype.  In prototype racing (e.g. MotoGP and Formula 1), the vehicles are as much of a god as the rider/driver.  True race fans and engineers appreciate that.  But, when a "factory spec" series has such dominate teams, it makes you wonder just how much money and effort is put into the Kawasakis and Ducatis compared to the other team.  Do the other teams even care?  Or, is there a little too much effort and resources going into the winning bikes?

IMO, there should there be rules limiting how much in resources each team may have in a factory spec series (money limits, engine count limits, testing time, etc...) and that's it.  Basically, take your factory bike, make the appropriate tweaks for racing (beef of engine for stress and allow suspension set ups) and that's it.  Let the best manufacture and rider win.  But, to penalize winning teams by dumbing down their engines, etc... is a ridiculous concept to me.  I too am not a fan of these new rules.

How does one enforce an anti-boycott law?  I guess you have to announce why you aren’t buying something.

Ya them were the days
