I did have to sacrifice a BMW voltage regulator to make that happen.  I specify, "BMW" 'cause I learned it cost twice as much for the same product fitted to any other make of bikes.

You're welcome.

Fixed that for you.   :-\ :P

Yeeehaaawww.  Me and Sue are planning on being there.  Sure, put us to work!!!  Grilling or whatever.  The camping on the dock offer is what concreted the deal for my wife.  Barring a shitty rain storm we are planning on leaving Thursday after work and camping in Delaware off of the ferry and heading to you by Friday afternoon.  Looking forward to meeting you Eric.  Thanks for the weekend away.  This also gives me a shake down attempt to posting on a imgur account that I have to open for my future ride reports.

Just a quick update, we have 3 bunks 1 bunk, 2 day beds, 1 queen size and 1 air mattress still available, the rest has been spoken for. There's an ice maker in the saloon so if you need any please don't bring any. There was mild interest in the patches/stickers so I didn't follow through on that idea.

Regarding food? My original plan was the usual burger/dogs & accoutrements. I'm open for suggestions if folks would like to march in a different direction? Brats, mac & cheese, potato salad, open for discussion if anyone has any ideas? There will be a full kitchen at your disposal should you wish to prepare your own grub.

If you would prefer to hotel it, there's only two options.

HighPoint Marina (The nicer of the two, sundry store, nice view) 2 miles from the cabin even though it says Mineral, we live on the county line.
Lighthouse Inn
4634 Courthouse Rd.
Mineral, VA  23117
540 895 5249
http://www.highpointmarina.com/2015/05/lighthouse-inn.html

Lake Anna Lodge (Fleabag motel that the bass tourney fisherman use) Bar on the premises, 1 mile from the cabin, no view.
5152 Courthouse Rd.
Spotsylvania, VA 22553
Phone: (540) 895-5302

There's many vineyards to visit if you wish. The closest being Lake Anna Winery. They are very active in the community, hosts RenFest, events with music and such.

If you're a civil war buff I can point you in a hundred different directions.

If you're a WW2 buff there's the tank museum which is awesome. About 2.5 hrs ride each way in Danville.

Nice dining there's Tim's at lake Anna for seafood about 20 minutes away.

BRPW and Skyline Drive need no introduction.

Ask away should you need any other information and we hope to see you there! We are roughly only 7 to 8 weeks away! Woot woot!

Eric

PS: I'll pm my personal address and phone to each of you when we get closer. I do not wish to publish it on the world wide web.

I'm as "in" as I ever am. It's on the calendar on the fridge, and that's as official as it gets around here.

Weather and road conditions have no guarantees in early April here at home, but the average weather at your place looked pretty good to me.

If things go according to plan, since I'm trucking the moto down, I'll bring a mountain bike, and get some rides in.

I haven't spent much time planning this trip yet.  Accommodations wise, I'm not picky, and may even sleep in my truck, now that Smoker has dibs on the top bunk.

Mike,

I'll be riding a Yam FZ-10. The VFRs are iconic and many have them on this site I believe. A couple of the folks last year went to Moto GP in Austin last year. I was in Austin the same weekend for other reasons and didn't get to see the event. If you go, please take some pics and share!

Eric,

Cool beans.  Not 100% on Austin as I wanted to go up to Quebec, but too cold in April so I may head west.  I have family in Austin area so it is a viable option and I can stop by Mammoth Cave and ride the Ozarks on the way over.  Being retired with no responsibilities often leaves me with too many options.  Looking forward to meeting you.

Eric,

I really appreciate you opening up your place to us and count me in. I'll take whatever is left, or let me know if I should bring an air mattress.

This looks like a great way to kick off the riding season.

Erik,

I'm glad you're going to come! I'll reserve one of the beds in the loft for you.

I can sleep on anything, or bring my own air mattress.  I'm only coming from MD.

Jeff,

The last daybed is earmarked for you. No need to bring an air mattress, glad you can make it
